Pastoral Care

At the heart of our school’s ethos is that all pupils feel valued, safe and are encouraged to be themselves in a caring and inclusive environment. Our dedicated team of staff ensure that all our pupils are supported, encouraged and discover how to fulfil their potential.

In the Primary School, the class teacher has an important role in promoting the wellbeing of the children in their care both in and out of the classroom.

In the Secondary School, pupils have, whenever possible, the same form teachers from S1 to S5, and an S6 Tutor in their final year, who see the pupils in their charge every day. In addition, each pupil is guided and supported throughout his or her education and development by a Head of Year.

Lessons in the Civics programme play an important role in equipping children with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to keep themselves, and others, safe and healthy. These enable them to build self-awareness and self-esteem, develop the ability to talk about feelings, to be sensitive to others and to foster understanding, concern, and tolerance of others.
