Trip to Blair Castle

Wednesday, 30 May 2018

Today we went to the Blair Atholl Open Day and we had such a fabulous time. We arrived in good time and were soon jumping a course as if we were the horses before going off to feed lambs and see a sheep being shorn. Mrs Thomson has brought the fleece home with her to spin. We planted a sunflower seed, saw some game keeping equipment, visited the toilets, several times, before enjoying our lunch in the shade. We walked over bridges and rolled down hills before the finale which was a tractor trailer ride. It was so bumpy and we loved going up and down the hills - just like a roller-coaster someone shouted. As we were passing some ponies in the field a little voice said ' Oh Mrs Thomson that pony is broken down' - we all craned our necks to see - the pony was just taking a nap on its side! The children were so engrossed in the activities that they were a delight to take out. The bus journeys went well and despite being egged on by Mr Bellman, my bus, at least, was tranquil. We will have lots to recall about our day tomorrow so watch this space for more photos and 'memorable moments'.
