Around the world in 80 laps

Thursday, 25 May 2017

Endurance cyclist Mark Beaumont went into the record books in 2008 when he cycled around the world in 195 days. On 2nd July Mark will attempt to smash the current record of 123 days by cycling around the world in just 80 days. As part of our Health & Well-being activities and to show our support for Mark we decided we would try to cycle 80 laps around the school’s tennis courts. Mark came to support us and set the children on their first lap around the courts.
We are very proud to report that in total the children cycled or scooted 523 laps. We were all blown away by the enthusiasm and determination of the children to go around as many times as possible. Every child in the Nursery surpassed themselves.
We will all be cheering for Mark in July and following his progress through the Holiday Club and into the next academic year.
