1140 Hours at Morrison's Academy Nursery

Thursday, 14 May 2020

From August 2020, as long-standing Perth and Kinross Council Partner Providers, Morrison’s Academy Nursery will be offering fully-funded Early Learning & Childcare (ELC) 1140 hours to three and four year old pupils.  We are also delighted to welcome two year olds into our Nursery from August and will be extending our hours to be open 50 weeks a year.

At Morrison’s Academy we believe that the first steps in a child’s education are crucial for their long term learning habits and happiness.  For twenty years, our Nursery has been a place where children have felt safe, nurtured and valued.  Learning through exploration and play is the focus, ensuring that our youngest pupils are ready to enter school.

The Nursery curriculum develops every child’s skills, personality and talents.  Key areas include health and wellbeing, communication and numeracy, expressive arts, science, technology and the world around us.  We are very fortunate in being able to draw on the skills and expertise of our school colleagues who are happy to have eager young minds in their classrooms, sports halls and laboratories.  French lessons, music classes and PE are offered to all Nursery pupils by specialist teachers.

At Morrison’s Academy we know that a good education is far more than results and the Nursery is no different.  Our experienced teachers and staff focus on creating cherished childhood moments.  They encourage strong friendships that last a lifetime, nurture a love for learning and a drive to do the best a child can from the very beginning.

Morrison’s Academy Nursery is a purpose-built Indoor / Outdoor building with wide open spaces and a dedicated garden.  Children can be found absorbed in exciting collaborative work in our large, bright, airy rooms or discovering the world around them in outdoor learning experiences throughout the school’s extensive grounds.
