Morrison’s Academy uses cookies and collects IP addresses to enhance your user experience. By using the Morrison’s Academy website and portal you accept the use of these cookies on your computer. This information is not used to develop a personal profile of you and the log files are regularly archived and purged.

We also use your IP address to determine whether you are accessing the services from the UK, to monitor the number of visits from different countries and also to block disruptive use.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small amount of data which often includes a unique identifier that is sent to your computer or mobile phone (referred to here as a "device") browser from a website's computer and is stored on your device's hard drive. Each website can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites. Many sites do this whenever a user visits their website in order to track online traffic flows.

Cookies record information about your online preferences and allow us to tailor the website to your interests. Users have the opportunity to set their devices to accept all cookies, to notify them when a cookie is issued, or not to receive cookies at any time. Each browser is different, so check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences.

During the course of any visit to the Morrison’s Academy website, the pages you see, along with a cookie, are downloaded to your device. Many websites do this because cookies enable website publishers to do useful things like find out whether the device (and probably its user) has visited the website before. This is done on a repeat visit by checking to see, and finding, the cookie left there on the last visit.

How you consent to us placing cookies

When you visit our site you should see a pop-up at the top of your screen directing you to this Cookie Policy and our Privacy and Retention Policy.

By clicking or selecting “I Agree” button that appears in the pop-up then you are demonstrating to us that you are freely giving us informed and specific consent for us to place cookies on your device for the purposes specified in this Cookie Policy and you are accepting and consenting to the practices described.

If you do not click or select the “I Agree” button that appears in the pop-up then we will not place cookies on your device.

If you do not see a pop-up at the top of your screen then you may have already accepted our Cookie Policy and our Privacy Policy. You may also be using a pop-up blocker or similar tools that may prevent this policy from being brought to your attention. Please ensure that any pop-up blockers are disabled when you use our site.

How long is Cookie information stored?

Different cookies may be stored for different periods of time. In many cases, these cookies are updated automatically each time you visit our site or may expire and be deleted by your computer automatically. Each time you visit our site you start a new “session”. When you leave our site the session ends. The expiry period of a cookie will usually run from the date of the most recent session. This means that each time you visit our site, the expiry period for those cookies may reset.

It is important to understand that when a cookie is placed on your computer it will reside on your hard drive until it expires and is deleted or it may reside on your hard drive until you manually delete it – this entirely depends on your individual browser settings and we do not have control over this.

Please remember that you can delete or change the way in which you store cookies on your computer at any time.
