S3 Subject Choices
Pupils must choose 1 subject from each of the first 5 columns and 3 further subjects from column 6. The target presentation level for SQA exams in S4 is Intermediate 2.

S5 Subject Choices
Pupils normally take 5 subjects in S5 and mostly these are chosen from the subjects they have been studying in S4. The target presentation level for SQA exams is Higher. Alternative presentation at Intermediate 2 is available in Maths and English.
There are no compulsory subjects in S5.
The subjects currently available in S5 are;
Accounting, Art and Design, Biology, Business Management, Chemistry, English, French, Geography, German, History, Human Biology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Physics, Spanish.
S6 Subject Choices
Pupils entering S6 have a wide range of options open to them.
- They may progress some of their S5 subjects to Advanced Higher.
- They may retake Highers or take Highers in new subjects.
- They may combine Highers and Advanced Highers.

Accounting, Art and Design, Biology, Business Management, Chemistry, English, French, Geography, German, History, Information Systems, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Spanish.
Subjects available at Higher are:
Accounting, Art and Design, Biology, Business Management, Chemistry, English, French, Geography, German, History, Human Biology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Modern Studies, Music, Photography for the Media, Physical Education, Physics, Spanish.
An IT course leading to the ECDL award is also available.
